Mr Daren Tang, Managing Director of the World Intellectual Property Organisation, made a working visit to the Principality on November 2 and 3.

The Managing Director was received in Audience by HSH the Sovereign Prince and a working lunch was organised by HE the Minister of State.

Mr Tang signed with Mr Jean Castellini, Minister of Finance and the Economy, a memorandum of understanding aimed at defining more precisely the areas of cooperation between the Prince’s Government and his specialised agency of the United Nations.

Top-level visits were arranged to the Intellectual Property Unit of the Department of Economic Expansion and the Interministerial Delegation for the Digital Transition (DITN). Mr Tang and his associates met various private actors, including innovative startups in residence at the MonacoTech incubator.

According to the Monaco Government, this visit took place at a particularly opportune moment as the Principality is preparing to modernise its intellectual property legislation in order to enhance attractiveness and provide an environment conducive to the development of innovative activities in Monaco.
