SBM’s CEO Jean-Luc Biamonti has said that the opening of the refurbished and much-enlarged Café de Paris will meet its target of the end of June or start of July, 2023.

Société des Bains de Mer had budgeted 40 million euros for the total transformation, but this figure will be higher reflecting the increased costs of building materials.

Mr Biamonti has not put a figure on the cost overrun.

The new Café de Paris will be home to up to ten boutiques.

The brasserie will extend from the ground floor to the first floor, while a new restaurant will be found on the second floor with the name Amazonico. There will also be a rooftop terrace.

Other developments include a likely reopening of Moods after a ten-year absence. Work is also proceeding on a renovation of the Casino de Monte-Carlo that will be much less dramatic than the restructuring of the Café de Paris.
