The Monaco resident of Brazilian origin on trial in Nice for running a prostitution ring in Beausoleil and Monaco has been sentenced to four years in jail. Prosecutors had asked for seven.

Her son and his ‘lieutenant’ were both given three-year sentences. Two out of five defendants were found not guilty.

The ring was centred on the Flots d’Or residence in Beausoleil where frequent comings and goings caused a nuisance to neighbours. Investigators from Monaco and Menton were involved in the investigation, as Monaco Daily News reported earlier.

The Madame, in her fifties, frequently sent cash back to Brazil and was charged with money-laundering as well as other offences.
