Monaco’s annual Organ Festival will open this cultural season from June 19 and will run until July 17 at the Cathedral of Monaco. With the theme “the organ and literature”, this 17th edition will offer five shows including an opening film-concert. Actors such as Guillaume Gallienne and Thibault de Montalembert, but also the astronaut-cosmonaut Jean-Loup Chrétien, who is passionate about the organ, will come to talk with internationally-renowned organists who will improvise on the great organ. A musical show, “The other half of a dream”, will offer a reading of the texts of Alicia Gallienne, with improvised music.
On July 2 and 3, the biannual exhibition of the Forum des Artistes de Monaco will take place at the Léo Ferré space. This meeting will bring together 80 amateur and professional artists who will present their work in the fields of painting, sculpture and photography. A Public Prize, organised from June 16 to 30 on the event’s website (www.forumdesartistes.mc), will be an opportunity for the public to vote for the work they prefer, work that will then be exhibited at the Forum.
From July 5 and until October 2, Philippe Geluck’s Cat will take up its summer quarters on the Larvotto Promenade.
The traveling exhibition “Le Chat déambule”, will present 20 monumental bronze sculptures, 2.7 metres high and weighing 2.5 tons each. It is at the Théâtre du Fort Antoine that this eclectic season will continue from July 8 to August 2. with seven outdoor evenings. This year’s lineup will feature theater but also circus arts, singing and music. The opening show, “Hansel and Gretel” on July 8 and the closing show, “Ensuring Your Own Whispers,” will be open to young people from six years old.
