There was a very large influx of tourists over the Easter weekend, Minister of Finance and Economy Jean Castellini told a meeting of the Trade Observatory on Tuesday, April 19.
The weekend figures were an encouraging sign of an end to the crisis, in particular following the latest relaxation of pandemic restrictions, the resumption of international travel and the return of major events in the Principality, particularly in the fields of sport and tourism businesses, which encourage Monaco to project itself into the future with confidence, Mr Castellini said.
The meeting brought together representatives of the National Council, the Economic, Social and Environmental Council, the Strategic Council for Attractiveness, IMSEE and the Monegasque Real Estate Chamber in order to take stock of the current commercial situation and the progress of the major works of the Observatory, as well as leading representatives of local businesses.
