Monaco has received a “High Security Printing Award” in the category “Best new ID card and travel document” for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. The unique identity document is valid both in the physical and in the digital worlds.
The Extended Monaco program, which is responsible for the card, was rewarded for its adherence to the highest international standards, both in terms of its technology and the quality of the services it offers to the Monegasque and resident population, the Government said on Thursday, April 21.
The digital identity document for Monegasques and residents was developed in just 18 months by the office in charge of Digital Transition, in collaboration with the Department of the Interior, the Directorate of Public Security, the Town Hall of Monaco and the Monegasque Digital Security Agency, and with the help of IN Groupe, a key player in identity solutions and digital services worldwide.
“This digital identity is decisive for the attractiveness and modernisation of Monaco in this new post-Covid world, like the solutions offered to citizens and residents in Singapore and in Luxembourg. It is essential to maintain our quality of life, guarantee the safety of our data, and continue to attract talent from around the world,’ said Frédéric Genta, the official in charge of Digital Transition.
