HSH Prince Albert has tested positive for coronavirus just hours before he was due to fly to New York to take part in the “Stars of Stony Brook” gala, where he was due to receive a prize for his environmental work.

This is the second time the Sovereign has caught the virus. He was first infected on March 19, 2020, just two days after Monaco went into its first lockdown. He continued to work during his recovery.

On Wednesday, a statement from the Palace said that the Prince has no symptoms… “His state of health does not cause any concern. He is working remotely, in permanent contact with the members of his Cabinet, his Government as well as with his close advisers,” the Palace said.
