The local cross-border commission for Franco-Monegasque cooperation met on March 15, 2022, in Monaco.

The commission has met every year alternately in Monaco and Nice since 2005 to deal with neighbourhood issues between France and the Principality, particularly in issues such as housing and transport, the environment, social affairs and health.

The Monaco team was headed by Mr Pierre Dartout, Minister of State, and the French side by Mr Bernard Gonzalez, Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes.

The committee took stock of the issue of housing for working people and noted the need to thoroughly examine all possible avenues. Transport was also high on the agenda, especially the improvement of rail links and maritime shuttles. The Rainier III tunnel, improving traffic on the moyenne corniche, and parking lots were also raised.

The supply and management of drinking water and waste were also discussed.

The meeting of the local cross-border commission took place in a very positive spirit and in a shared concern to develop projects for the service of French and Monegasques alike.
