Three years ago Monaco’s Civil Aviation Department, supported by the companies Air Space Drone, provider of the FlySafe digital platform, and MC-Clic, the Monegasque drone company, inaugurated a low altitude airspace management system.
The Principality was the first to deploy a specific program relating to drones and other unmanned aircraft.
Updated regulations introduced on February 6, 2022, aim to ensure better management of Monegasque airspace while taking into account recent technological developments.
For companies that wish to use drones in the Principality, annual approval will be needed in addition to prior authorisation for each flight.
Authorised drones will need to be equipped with a signalling device compatible with the FlySafe platform. Additionally, they must be fitted with a parachute to protect people on the ground in the event of failure.
