The southern Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region has passed the 10,000 death threshold of coronavirus deaths since the start of the pandemic almost two years ago.
More men than women succumbed to the virus, with 5,837 men dying of the disease compared to 4,166 women.
The 80-89 age group has been affected the most, so it comes as no shock that 4,067 deaths were recorded in this age category whilst no child nor teenager died from the virus.
