Having lost to Paris on the previous Sunday, AS Monaco returned to Paris for another French fixture. This time though, the Monegasques faced off against Red Star FC in the Coupe de France round of 64 on Sunday, December 19.

This would be an extra special occasion, as Wissam Ben Yedder made his 100th appearance with Monaco.

Rather fittingly, it would be Ben Yedder who opened the scoring for Monaco, with a goal at the 33rd minute in the Stade Bauer.

Unfortunately for the hosts, Ben Yedder was not done celebrating 100 matches in red and white, and extended Monaco’s lead with another goal at the 65th minute.

Despite a flurry of substitutions thereafter, the scoreline remained unchanged, and the match ended in a favourable 0-2 result to the visiting Monegasques.

With a win under their belts in the Coupe de France, AS Monaco now set their sights on their Ligue 1 fixture against Stade Rennais, at home on Wednesday, December 22.
