Monaco’s Department of Tourism and Conventions has recently carried out a marketing operation to promote the Principality’s five-star hotels to Middle East markets that are seen as essential to these establishments.

The Tourism Department was represented by Ms Sandrine Camia, Deputy Director, and Laurence Aquilina, Development Officer. The Monegasque delegation was also made up of representatives of SBM Monte-Carlo and the Hôtel Métropole.

The Escales group, which is active on the French Riviera, was also involved in this charm offensive to attract top-end visitors from United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Barhein.

The Monaco Pavilion at the Universal Exhibition of Dubai was the focus of the campaign, enabling guests to appreciate the sometimes striking discrepancy between the idea they had of Monaco and the reality of its modern transformation.

Participants were also able, after eating in the VIP area of the Monegasque Pavilion, extend their visit to Expo 2020 and benefit from exclusive private tours of other pavilions.

On the second day, in association with Amber Lounge, all participants were able to watch the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and meet former driver and Monegasque resident David Coulthard, who shared his racing experience with them.

This successful promotional initiative has already resulted in hotel reservations. In future months, the DTC campaign will allow many other tourism partners in Monaco to benefit.
