Forty-eight new coronavirus cases were recorded on Friday, December 10, the highest daily number since the start of the pandemic.

Most of the new infections are mild, but 13 people are being treated for coronavirus symptoms at Princess Grace Hospital, including four residents.

Twenty-four residents were declared fully-recovered, while the number of residents with mild symptoms recovering at home has also beaten previous records, and now stands at 190.

While almost 92 percent of residents aged 75 and older have received at least two doses of vaccine, and 76.8 percent of 55-64 year-olds, the rate amongst younger people is much lower. In every age group over 12, taken as a whole, the rate is 65.4 percent.
