AS Monaco have announced the signing of German goalkeeper Alexander Nübel from Bundesliga side Bayern Munich on a two year loan deal through 2023.

At 24 years-old, Nübel is now joining his first club outside of Germany, having played at Schalke 04 and Bayern Munich. Nübel made such a good impression at Schalke that he quickly became the club’s captain, going on to play in the armband a total of 53 times. See some of his best saves below:

Standing at a lofty 1.92 metres, Monaco’s latest signing was once the U21 German national team’s goalkeeper, and will surely make a great addition to an already promising squad.

Speaking on his arrival to the Principality side, Nübel said “I am very happy to join AS Monaco, a club which is recognized and followed in Germany. AS Monaco have just had a very good season and are about to play in the Champions League. I am very enthusiastic about the idea of joining this compelling project, to bring my contributions to the betterment of the whole and to play in a new league.”
