Sotheby’s will open a private sales gallery in Monaco this summer from July 1 until October, the first “pop up” private sales space for Sotheby’s in Europe.

Sotheby’s describes it as “the next step in Sotheby’s commitment to bringing the finest works of art direct to the doorsteps of collectors.”

The gallery – on ave de la Costa – will feature a constantly rotating and refreshed selection of important works of Modern and Contemporary across two floors, reflecting the very best examples from across Sotheby’s offerings of fine art across the globe, the auction house said.

The first exhibition will offer a selection of works by classic artists including Picasso, Picabia, Braque, Renoir, Leger, Matisse, Nolde and Twombly, blended with Italian pieces by Fontana, Boetti and Burri.

The artworks will be presented alongside design and luxury items – including watches, handbags, sneakers and one-of-a-kind creations by British Master Jeweller Glenn Spiro – all available for immediate purchase.

The space will also host a series of events and a range of both on and offline services.
