A Monaco resident, aged 82, suffering from coronavirus, was reported to have died overnight from January 6 to January 7.
Meanwhile, after three days of record rates of infection, with a total of 111 new cases from Tuesday through Thursday, 23 new cases were reported among Monaco residents on Friday, January 8.
Of ten residents being treated for coronavirus at Princess Grace Hospital, five were in intensive care on Friday evening.
The number of residents with mild symptoms, recovering at home under the supervision of the Home Monitoring Centre, now stands at 145.
In the UK on Friday, two new records were set. A daily total of 68,053 new cases were reported as well as 1,325 new deaths.
