Forty new cases of coronavirus among residents were reported in the 24 hours to Thursday evening, January 7. The latest figure takes the total since the start of the pandemic to 1,018. Thursday’s figures represented the third consecutive daily record.
Of 13 residents receiving treatment for coronavirus at Princess Grace Hospital, four were in intensive care.
Twenty residents were reported to have recovered fully.
The number of residents with mild symptoms recovering at home under the supervision of the Home Monitoring Centre has risen to 149.
To put the latest figures in context, many more tests are being carried out in the Principality.
Meanwhile, in the UK 52,618 new cases and 1,162 new deaths were reported on January 7.
