The France/Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry put the Principality of Monaco in the spotlight at its annual gala which took place in Tokyo on November 4.

Despite the ongoing health crisi, the event brought together many personalities including the Ambassador of France, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and very many leaders of Japanese business, cultural and sporting circles.

HSH Prince Albert marked the evening with his presence with a video message of solidarity and confidence in the future.

An auction was then held to raise funds to support Franco-Japanese research in the fight against contagious diseases and coronavirus. H.E. Mr Patrick Médecin, Ambassador of Monaco to Japan, also awarded the first prize of the raffle – a stay in Monaco for two people.

The evening took place in a Monegasque atmosphere with a decoration designed in collaboration with the Tourism Office in Tokyo and the Monaco Consulate in Japan and a menu developed by the Head of the Kitchens of the Palace Mr Christian Garcia and produced with Japanese Chef Mr Nobuhiko Fukuda.

The screening of the Ballets de Monte-Carlo film produced during confinement, entitled “Wake up!” closed the gala, replacing the live performance initially planned in Tokyo.
