The Monaco Government recommends that everyone be vaccinated against the ‘flu for the better protection of everyone’s health. The objective is to limit the spread of the seasonal influenza virus as much as possible while coronavirus is still actively circulating.

Vaccination against influenza is recommended for all from the age of six months.

However, the flu vaccination for all caregivers and personnel in contact with vulnerable people, in particular in nursing homes, institutions, hospitals and nurseries, is an absolute duty, the Government has said.

Doctors, nurses, midwives, medical biologists and pharmacists can vaccinate against influenza and the cost of the influenza vaccine is reimbursed for anyone affiliated with the Monegasque social security system.

Flu vaccination has many benefits. Because ‘flu has many symptoms identical to coronavirus, including fever, cough, fatigue, muscle pain, diagnosis will be facilitated if an infected person is vaccinated against the ‘flu.

By eliminating the ‘flu, the number of days off work or schooling is reduced while Covid test results are awaited.
