In order to make up for lost time, building site working hours are being extended to boost the construction sector.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Government said that the stimulus measures are intended to support a key sector of the economy.
The extended hours will partially compensate for the delays caused by the closure of worksites during the coronavirus lockdown. However, a fair balance must be kept between supporting the construction sector and preserving the quality of life, Marie-Pierre Gramaglia, Minister of Infrastructure, Environment and Town Planning, said.
These measures initially apply until December 31, 2020. Workers will be able to arrive from 06:30, in order to avoid a mass arrival at 07:30. Working hours will be extended until 21:00, with a starting time of 07:30, Monday to Friday.
All percussion and drilling work is prohibited, from Monday to Friday before 08:30 and after 19:30, and on Saturdays before 09:30 and after 12:30. In the event of non-compliance, the schedule changes may be revoked at any time.
Work sites will be stopped on the following days: Saturday August 15, 2020, Thursday November 19, 2020, Friday December 25, 2020 and Friday January 1 2021.
