Monaco police will issue fines of up to 300 euros for anyone littering public spaces with discarded masks and gloves, the Government said on Thursday, June 18.
The authorities cited the Environment Code, and said that other litter will be covered by the new provision.
Discarded masks and gloves have become a major problem along the Riviera. The rubber and plastic materials can confuse marine creatures which may think the gloves are food.
