The administrators of the Karl Lagerfeld Estate have chosen Sotheby’s to hold inventories and sell the collections held in the residences of the late designer.

The inventory process is planned to last two months and will be followed by an auction of the collection in Monaco.

The sale will take place in the second half of 2021 and will underline the couturier’s strong link with the Principality and the Sovereign Family, Sotheby’s said on Tuesday.

“It is with great pride that our teams learned of the news. The sale will pay tribute to this immense designer, a key figure in fashion and the arts” Pierre Mothes, Vice-President of Sotheby’s France, said.
