The Cypriot and Maltese subsidiaries of Monaco Telecom, leading mobile operators in their countries, have signed a strategic partnership with Phoenix Towers International (PTI).

This provides for the acquisition of 100 percent of the passive infrastructure of Epic’s mobile sites on the two islands, or 815 sites, consisting of towers and masts supporting the equipment.

Epic keeps ownership of all antennas and active elements of the network. This partnership translates into the signing of a long-term service contract for the hosting of Epic’s mobile sites by PTI, as well as an ambitious program to build new sites to keep the network evolving, according to a press release.

This is the first such partnership in Cyprus and Malta. The operators have structured equivalent operations in almost all European countries.
