On September 6 and 7, the Princess Charlene Foundation will host the latest edition of ‘The Crossing: Calvi – Monaco Waterbike Challenge’ where participants pedal across the water from Corsica to Monaco. Although Princess Charlene, who took on the challenge herself in 2020, won’t compete this year, she will be cheering on the 20 athletes competing in five teams.

The Serenity team, representing Princess Charlene, includes Foundation ambassadors Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas and Slovak cyclist Peter Sagan, joined by Australian cyclist Tiffany Cromwell and the Foundation’s Secretary General, Gareth Wittstock.

Competing against them are four other teams, including Lionheart, led by Olympic gold medalist cyclist Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, and Ferrari’s team of four Italian drivers. The Rock to Rock team features amateur athletes from Monaco, while U17 is led by world boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk.

All teams share the same goal: to complete the journey from Corsica’s port to Larvotto beach in Monaco as quickly as possible.
