The Union of Monegasque Women (UFM) brought together around 80 guests for its annual autumn luncheon on October the 24th, an occasion dedicated to friendship, solidarity and raising awareness of issues affecting women in the Principality…

Founded in 1958, the association has spent nearly seven decades supporting women and defending their rights. Its traditional luncheon remains an important opportunity for members to reconnect, exchange ideas and enjoy time together, particularly for those who might otherwise experience social isolation.

Amongst those attending were Minister of State Christophe Mirmand, representatives of Monaco’s political institutions and members of the Principality’s charitable community.

With October marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the event also provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of prevention. The president of Ecoute Cancer Réconfort encouraged women to look beyond wearing the symbolic pink ribbon and take practical steps towards protecting their health, particularly by arranging appropriate medical screening.

The gathering also offered a glimpse of the association’s forthcoming activities, including a dedicated self-defence event and workshops exploring artificial intelligence.

Combining social connection with practical initiatives and charitable engagement, the autumn luncheon reflected the Union’s continuing commitment to supporting women across the generations, as it approaches its 70th anniversary in 2028.
