The roar of 145 motorcycles filled Monaco’s Quai Antoine Ier on Sunday morning as riders gathered for the return of the Monegasque Friendship Ride, a tradition bringing together motorcycle enthusiasts and law enforcement officers from across the region…
Organised by the Monaco Motorcycle Club, the event was established in 1985 at the initiative of Prince Rainier III and has become a celebration of friendship, shared interests and cooperation between neighbouring communities.
Participants included members of the Prince’s Carabiniers, Monaco’s Public Security Department, French police and gendarmerie units, municipal police officers from Menton and Nice, and representatives of other regional services.
Setting off at 9am, the riders travelled in three separate convoys towards the Col de Turini, approximately 60 kilometres from Monaco. Their scenic route passed through La Turbie, Peille, L’Escarène and the Col de Saint-Roch, with glorious sunshine providing ideal conditions for the journey.
At the Col de Turini, participants enjoyed a coffee break and an opportunity to exchange experiences and renew friendships. The event concluded back in Monaco, where the club’s president welcomed participants and celebrated a record turnout, highlighting the enduring appeal of motorcycling and camaraderie.
