Drivers heading toward Condamine on Thursday morning, September 24, found the public car park closed entirely, after Monaco’s Fire Brigade began a fire drill in its underground levels, according to Monaco-Matin.
The exercise, based on a scenario involving a car catching fire underground, drew plenty of attention from passers-by, with white smoke, several fire vehicles and a cordoned-off section of Boulevard Albert 1er all visible from street level before it became clear the response was a planned drill rather than a genuine emergency.
The car park remains off-limits to both season ticket holders and casual users for the duration of the exercise, with no confirmed time yet given for its reopening. Staff from Monaco Parkings have been stationed at the entrance to redirect arriving drivers toward nearby car parks, many of which are already close to capacity this week with the 2026 Monaco Yacht Show underway.
