The family-run Monegasque company, founded in 1991 and led by maritime tourism specialist Pierre Brezzo, has spent more than three decades introducing visitors to the rich marine life found off Monaco’s coastline. Its observation cruises combine wildlife encounters with education, highlighting the importance of protecting the Mediterranean’s fragile ecosystem.
Departing aboard Atlantide 2, as reported by Monaco Info, the crew and passengers scanned the horizon with binoculars, knowing that sightings of marine mammals are never guaranteed. After an initial encounter with striped dolphins, guides explained that the animals are generally more discreet during the calving season.
Patience was rewarded later in the morning when a pod of around 30 dolphins approached the vessel, delighting passengers as they rode the bow wave. Throughout the excursion, the crew reinforced the need to observe strict approach distances and time limits, ensuring the animals remain undisturbed in their natural habitat.
The return journey offered one final highlight as two sperm whales appeared, providing a spectacular end to a trip that showcased the extraordinary biodiversity of the Pelagos Sanctuary just beyond Monaco’s shores.
