Monaco’s Embassy in France and the Principality’s Permanent Delegation to UNESCO hosted a reception in Paris to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the accession of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II…

Held at the Pavillon Dauphine on Thursday July 9, the annual gathering brought together ambassadors, diplomats and friends of Monaco ahead of the official anniversary. The event was jointly organised by Monaco’s Ambassador to France, Valérie Bruell-Melchior, and Ambassador Anne-Marie Boisbouvier, Permanent Delegate to UNESCO. The two diplomats highlighted the advantages of Monaco maintaining both bilateral and UNESCO representation in Paris, allowing the Principality to strengthen relationships and advance a wide range of international initiatives.

Despite the summer heatwave, the reception attracted a large diplomatic audience, providing an opportunity to showcase Monaco’s innovation alongside its diplomatic engagement.

This year’s event placed a particular emphasis on the Principality’s growing role in space technology. Monaco-based company Venturi Space presented its lunar rover project, designed for future missions to the Moon’s south pole. The rover is powered by battery technology developed, tested and assembled entirely in Monaco, demonstrating the Principality’s expanding expertise in advanced engineering.

Beyond the celebrations, the reception served as a platform to promote Monaco’s scientific innovation, international partnerships and global outlook while honouring more than two decades of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II’s reign.
