Monaco’s Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (IMSEE) held its 18th Scientific Council on Thursday at the Ministry of State, bringing together experts to review ongoing research and help shape the Principality’s future statistical and economic priorities…
Opening the meeting, Minister of State Christophe Mirmand thanked the council’s 11 members for their contribution to maintaining the scientific excellence and credibility of Monaco’s public statistics. Chaired by Professor Pierre Dubois, the advisory body provides independent guidance on statistical methodology, research programmes and the annual survey agenda.
During the session, IMSEE Director Alexandre Bubbio presented several major projects, including the new property price index based on price per square metre, the results of the 2025 tourism survey, research into the gender pay gap, updates to economic classification standards and preparations for the population census. Progress on strengthening data protection compliance was also reviewed.
The council also discussed a number of forthcoming studies, including an assessment of the economic impact of the 2026 Formula 1 Grand Prix, research into the qualifications of private sector employees, the development of improved forecasting models for state revenues and a new online service for obtaining NIS certificates.
Members concluded the meeting by making recommendations aimed at further strengthening Monaco’s statistical system before joining Minister of State Christophe Mirmand for a working lunch.
