The Fort Antoine Theatre continued its acclaimed summer programme with an unforgettable performance by Canadian jazz singer Dominique Fils-Aimé, whose soulful voice and deeply personal music captivated audiences under the stars…
Travelling from Montreal, the award-winning artist delivered a concert on Wednesday evening that blended jazz, soul and blues while reflecting on themes of empathy, connection and coexistence. Speaking before the performance, Fils-Aimé described music as a universal language capable of bringing people together, encouraging audiences to look beyond differences and focus on the shared humanity that unites them.
One of the evening’s most moving moments came as she opened the concert with a rare recording of her mother singing, captured on cassette during the 1970s. The recording forms part of her latest project, conceived as both a tribute to her own mother and a celebration of unconditional love, setting an intimate and emotional tone for the performance.
Her warm stage presence and expressive vocals drew an enthusiastic response from the Monaco audience, who rewarded the performance with sustained applause. The concert added another memorable evening to the Fort Antoine programme, which continues throughout July with a diverse line-up of music and theatre in one of the Principality’s most atmospheric open-air venues.
