Three people were injured on Friday, July 3 after a 14-year-old driving an electric microcar lost control of the vehicle and struck two pedestrians on Boulevard d’Italie in Monaco.
The incident occurred shortly before 14:00, according to Monaco’s Public Security Directorate. The vehicle veered onto the pavement, where it collided with the two pedestrians.
Emergency services, including police officers and firefighters, responded quickly to the scene to assist the injured and secure the area. All three individuals – the teenage driver and the two pedestrians – sustained injuries.
The accident caused significant traffic disruption along Boulevard d’Italie while emergency crews carried out rescue operations. Diversions were put in place, and motorists were advised to avoid the area until the scene had been cleared.
Authorities have not yet released details on the severity of the injuries or the circumstances that caused the young driver to lose control of the vehicle.
An investigation is expected to determine the exact cause of the accident.
