Monaco is set to introduce enhanced transport arrangements on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14 to ensure smoother access to Monaco-Ville during a weekend affected by rail disruption and increased visitor numbers.
Engineering works carried out by SNCF Réseau will lead to a full suspension of train services between Nice and Monaco on Saturday, June 13. On the same day, rail traffic between Monaco and Ventimiglia will also be significantly reduced, with limited services operating across the cross-border line.
In response, the Principality is directing motorists towards the Salines car park, which will serve as the main gateway for visitors arriving by car. To ease access to the Rock, particularly for those attending the 7th Rencontre des sites historiques Grimaldi de Monaco, a dedicated shuttle service will be put in place linking the Salines car park directly to Monaco-Ville. The temporary route will operate in a similar manner to the existing X1 line.
The shuttle will run on Saturday, June 13 from 09:00 to 23:00 and on Sunday, June 14 from 09:00 to 18:30, providing frequent connections throughout the peak visitor period.
As part of the usual arrangements, users of the Salines facility will also receive 10 free travel tickets for use on the Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco network, including the special shuttle service.
The Government has stated that the measures are designed to adapt transport provision to exceptional circumstances while maintaining efficient mobility across the Principality. Full details on revised train timetables and alternative transport options are available via SNCF Voyageurs.
