Monaco Grand Prix weekend is known for attracting world-class entertainment, and this year the legendary Gipsy Kings added a touch of musical magic to the festivities…
The iconic group visited the Principality for the screening of a new documentary retracing their remarkable career, offering fans a look back at the story behind one of the most successful and recognisable musical acts to emerge from southern Europe. The event also provided an opportunity for the musicians to perform selections from their latest album alongside some of the songs that have made them international stars.
Speaking in Monaco, founding member Tonino Baliardo explained that while the group continues to evolve and embrace modern influences, preserving the unmistakable Gipsy Kings sound remains essential. The band seeks to refresh its music with contemporary touches while remaining faithful to the style and spirit that have defined it for decades.
The visit also carried a sense of nostalgia. Members of the group recalled spending time in Monaco during earlier Grand Prix weekends, attending events and private celebrations in the Principality during their younger years.
For the Gipsy Kings, returning to Monaco was both a professional and personal pleasure. As always, the evening centred on the connection between performers and audience, with the group sharing the music that has captivated generations and continues to resonate around the world.
