After six years at the head of Monaco’s Association of Women Business Leaders, Johanna Houdrouge officially handed over leadership of the organisation during elections held this week, closing a presidency marked by growth, resilience and increased international visibility for women entrepreneurs in the Principality…
Speaking ahead of the transition, Houdrouge described her departure as emotional but peaceful, highlighting the strong position of the association after several challenging years, including the economic uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic when she first assumed office in 2020. Under her leadership, the network expanded from around 50 to 70 members, bringing together entrepreneurs from a wide range of sectors across Monaco’s economy.
Houdrouge also focused heavily on mentoring and supporting younger generations, notably through partnerships encouraging young women to pursue entrepreneurship and leadership roles. She described transmission and inspiration as central pillars of her presidency, alongside strengthening the association’s international profile.
One of the major milestones of her tenure was the organisation of the first European congress of women business leaders in Monaco, reinforcing the Principality’s growing role as a hub for innovation and female entrepreneurship.
Throughout her six-year mandate, the association also developed training initiatives helping members adapt to evolving legislation, technology and business challenges, including the rise of artificial intelligence. The name of Houdrouge’s successor is expected to be announced shortly.
