From the lawns to the asphalt of the Principality, Monaco Run 2026 got off to an energetic start as nearly 1,500 runners gathered at Port Hercule for the opening trail events on the 14th February…
Despite cool temperatures and damp conditions, participants of all levels turned out for the Mont Agel Trail and City Trail, setting the tone for a weekend dedicated to sport and endurance ahead of Sunday’s 5 km and 10 km races.
Families, amateurs and seasoned athletes lined up side by side at the running village before heading to the start line, united by a shared enthusiasm for running and the pleasure of taking on Monaco’s unique terrain. The Mont Agel Trail saw 650 runners tackle a demanding route featuring steep climbs, muddy paths and more than 1,100 metres of elevation, while a further 650 set off on the City Trail, weaving through some of the Principality’s most iconic locations.
From the gardens of Saint-Martin to the Palace Square and winding hillside paths, the courses offered both challenge and spectacular scenery. The recent rain made sections slippery and technical, adding to the test of endurance and mental strength required to reach the finish.
Smiles and relief greeted runners at the finish line, with strong performances across both fields. Amandine Ferrato claimed top spot in the women’s Mont Agel Trail, while Théo Lebouc once again dominated the men’s race. As Monaco Run continues this weekend, the early events have already confirmed the Principality’s reputation as a dynamic sporting destination.
