Monaco’s recent history is back in focus at the Galerie des Pêcheurs, where the Directorate of Communication has opened its annual photo exhibition highlighting key moments from across the Principality in 2025…
Open to the public until February 3, the display offers a visual journey through a year marked by major events, institutional milestones, and everyday scenes that reflect the rhythm of life in Monaco.
This edition brings together 24 carefully selected photographs taken by the Government’s in-house photography team, each chosen for its ability to tell a story beyond the headlines. Among the themes explored are the twentieth anniversary of the reign of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, major international sporting events including the Monaco E-Prix, and significant moments in political, cultural, and social life.
Far from a simple retrospective, the exhibition aims to show how public life and private emotion often intersect, capturing both the scale of official ceremonies and the spontaneity of street-level moments. The images offer visitors a chance to revisit defining episodes while also discovering quieter scenes that might otherwise have passed unnoticed.
According to Stéphane Danna, photographer with the Directorate of Communication, the objective is to preserve a collective memory of the year while presenting a balanced portrait of the Principality; dynamic, diverse, and constantly evolving.
The exhibition is free to visit and forms part of the Government’s ongoing effort to make public information and cultural heritage accessible to all.
