On Friday morning, January 2nd, Christophe Mirmand, Lionel Beffre, and Jean-Philippe Vinci visited several sites identified to temporarily accommodate students affected by works near the former Charles III college…

Among the locations assessed were the former premises of the International School of Monaco on Quai Antoine I, which could host classes following limited adjustments.

These visits form part of the Prince’s Government’s rapid response to ensure continuity of education for the 840 students of Albert I High School. The current configuration of the former Charles III building in the Annonciade district no longer allows in-person teaching, due to reinforcement works on the adjacent embankment that require part of the structure to be taken out of use for safety reasons.

Faced with this constraint, the authorities moved quickly to identify alternative solutions across the Principality, aiming to avoid prolonged remote learning wherever possible. Several temporary sites are being prepared to welcome students, teachers, and staff under suitable conditions, with particular attention paid to pupils preparing for key examinations.

These arrangements are intended to remain in place until the completion of the works at Albert I High School, currently scheduled for April 27. The government has underlined its commitment to maintaining educational quality and stability during this transitional period, while ensuring that safety remains the overriding priority for all concerned.
