he Principality’s Media Library is preparing for a new chapter as it temporarily shutters its three existing sites before uniting under one roof in the coming years.

From Saturday, September 20, the Bibliothèque Louis Notari, the Vidéothèque-Sonothèque José Notari and the Bibliothèque Princesse Caroline-Ludothèque will all close to the public. The move marks the start of a major reorganisation designed to create a single, modern cultural centre bringing together books, audiovisual resources and leisure activities in one integrated space.

To honour the legacy of the three long-standing sites, a farewell evening took place on Friday, September 19, at the Louis Notari Library. Running from 18:00 to 22:00, the event was an opportunity for residents and library staff to share memories and celebrate decades of cultural life before turning the page together.

City officials say the project aims to enhance Monaco’s cultural offering and ensure that future generations can enjoy an updated, accessible and dynamic media hub.
