Monaco formally welcomed four new ambassadors to the Principality on Wednesday, September 17, marking a further step in strengthening international ties. After presenting their Letters of Credence to His Serene Highness the Sovereign Prince in the morning, the diplomats were received by Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Government Counsellor–Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, during a luncheon held at the Hôtel Hermitage.
The newly accredited ambassadors included H.E. Ms Alise Balode, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia and Personal Representative of the Latvian President to the International Organisation of La Francophonie; H.E. Ms Renata Cvelbar Bek, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia, currently Permanent Representative of Slovenia to UNESCO and formerly posted in Madrid and London; H.E. Ms Tania Cavassini, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland, who most recently headed the Resources Division of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs between 2019 and 2024; and H.E. Ms Lynette Margaret Wood, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Australia.
The luncheon brought together several senior figures, including Ludmilla Raconnat Le Goff, Delegate for Attractiveness to the Minister of State and Secretary-General of the Strategic Council for Attractiveness, and Guillaume Rose, CEO of the Monaco Economic Board. Discussions centred on the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation that the Principality maintains with Latvia, Slovenia, Switzerland and Australia, and the opportunities for further collaboration across cultural, diplomatic and economic spheres.
