The greens of the Monte-Carlo Golf Club played host to the annual Princess of Monaco Cup on Tuesday, September 16, a charity tournament organised by the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation.
A total of 18 teams, each made up of four players including at least one well-known personality, took to the course under the “Scramble” format — a style of play designed to keep the competition both lively and accessible, as every shot resumes from the position of the best ball.
The event will conclude tonight with the traditional symbolic 19th hole tee-off in Casino Square, an unusual but iconic feature of the tournament that brings the glamour of Monte-Carlo directly into the heart of the city.
Launched in 2019, the Princess of Monaco Cup has become a highlight of the Principality’s sporting and social calendar, raising funds for a wide range of community projects. Proceeds have supported initiatives such as the refurbishment of the Princess Charlene Municipal Pool in La Turbie and the launch of a five-year education programme at the Awutu-Breku High School in Ghana.
Beyond the competition, the day is a showcase for Monaco’s blend of sport, philanthropy, and prestige — all driven by Princess Charlene’s commitment to using sport as a force for good.
