The Monaco Economic Board (MEB) welcomed more than 400 business leaders to its 54th Members’ Meeting on Monday, September 15 at the Yacht Club de Monaco, marking the return to business after the summer break with new initiatives and a strong focus on economic attractiveness.
Opening the evening, MEB President Michel Dotta underlined that Monaco was entering “an important period” following the recent appointment of H.E. Christophe Mirmand as Minister of State. Praising Mirmand’s prior experience as Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes and later of the PACA region, Dotta noted that the Principality would benefit from his “already solid knowledge of our country.”
He also congratulated Ludmilla Raconnat Le Goff on her new role as Delegate for Attractiveness, recalling her previous tenure at the Chamber of Economic Development between 2007 and 2009 under Franck Biancheri. “Her experience and drive will be a huge asset in supporting us and promoting our country’s economy,” Dotta said.
Addressing members directly, Raconnat Le Goff outlined the government’s strategy built around three core principles: clear state-led governance, stronger coordination between public and private partners, and a selective, pragmatic approach capitalising on Monaco’s unique advantages. She described the MEB as “a key driver of the attractiveness policy, both as an ambassador for Monaco’s economic dynamism and as a vital relay for public strategy abroad.”
She emphasised that her mission extended beyond attracting new companies, stressing the importance of supporting those already based in the Principality as “living proof that Monaco is a great place to do business.” She also pledged to meet businesses in their offices wherever possible.
MEB CEO Guillaume Rose then presented a packed agenda for the months ahead, including conferences on education in Monaco, Latvia’s economic potential, and corporate liability; B2B meetings between members; visits from delegations from Poland and India; international missions to Jeddah and Shanghai; and the year-ending Club Eco Monaco Awards.
As the speeches concluded, the evening gave way to networking on the Yacht Club’s terrace overlooking Port Hercules, offering members the chance to exchange ideas against one of the Principality’s most striking backdrops.
