Monaco’s sporting heroes were celebrated yesterday at the Oceanographic Museum, as the Principality paid tribute to the delegation that represented the nation at the 2025 Games of the Small States of Europe in Andorra, held from May 27 to 31.

In the presence of State Minister Christophe Mirmand, Yvette Lambin-Berti, Secretary of State and Secretary General of the Monaco Olympic Committee (COM), National Council President Thomas Brezzo, Archbishop Dominique David, and Robert Calcagno, Director General of the Oceanographic Institute, the athletes, coaches and officials were congratulated for their exceptional results.

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II hailed the team’s historic performance, which brought home 44 medals — 16 gold, 13 silver and 15 bronze — the highest tally Monaco has ever achieved abroad. The Principality finished in a remarkable fourth place overall.

“Your results go far beyond sport. They reflect the vitality of Monegasque sport and the community that supports you — families, clubs, coaches, managers and teammates,” the Sovereign told the delegation. He also praised the spirit of unity, sharing and perseverance embodied by the Games, before looking ahead to 2027, when Monaco itself will host the competition.
