The Principality is celebrating yet another year of academic excellence as the results of the 2025 Baccalaureate (Baccalauréat) exams reveal near-record success rates for Monaco’s students. With an impressive overall pass rate of 97.82% across all series, the performance of the Principality’s secondary school pupils reflects both their dedication and the high-quality education on offer in Monaco.
In the general stream (Série Générale), students from Lycée Albert Ier and Lycée François d’Assise – Nicolas Barré achieved a staggering 98.98% success rate, with an incredible 83.96% earning distinctions (mentions). These included 65 “Très Bien” (Very Good) honours, six of which were accompanied by the prestigious félicitations du jury (jury commendations), alongside 93 “Bien” (Good) and 88 “Assez Bien” (Fairly Good) mentions.
Meanwhile, in the technological stream (Série Technologique), 94.12% of candidates successfully passed their exams, with nearly two-thirds of them receiving distinctions. The breakdown included eight “Bien” (Good) mentions and 25 “Assez Bien” (Fairly Good) mentions.
Students following the professional stream (Série Professionnelle) at Lycée Rainier III also impressed, posting a 95.59% pass rate. Notably, nearly 70% of these students earned distinctions, with 11 achieving “Très Bien” (Very Good) — including two with félicitations du jury (jury commendations) — 19 “Bien” (Good) mentions and 17 “Assez Bien” (Fairly Good) mentions.
The academic excellence doesn’t stop there. In higher education, students at Lycée Rainier III have equally excelled, achieving a flawless 100% success rate in both the BTS Support à l’Action Managériale (Management Support Technical Diploma) and BTS Comptabilité Gestion (Accounting and Management Technical Diploma) programmes. The BTS Management de l’Hôtellerie et de la Restauration (Hotel and Catering Management Technical Diploma) also reported remarkable success, with 16 out of 17 students earning their qualifications.
The Princely Government has extended its warmest congratulations to all successful candidates, commending their perseverance and commitment. It also paid tribute to the dedication of Monaco’s educational teams, including teaching, administrative and support staff, whose unwavering efforts have once again delivered exceptional results.
Particular recognition was given to the Direction de l’Éducation Nationale, de la Jeunesse et des Sports (Department of National Education, Youth and Sports) for its crucial role in supporting both students and schools, contributing significantly to this collective success.
With these results, Monaco continues to cement its reputation for academic excellence, underlining the strength of its educational system and the bright future awaiting its young graduates.
