Art took centre stage at the 16th annual Monaco Private Label summit, where over 100 influential members from 30 countries gathered to explore the theme of collecting as both a cultural and economic pursuit…

The event, held under the direction of Chloé Boscagli, highlighted Monaco’s ambition to position itself as a global leader in art investment and cultural engagement.

Through a series of high-level conferences, participants were invited to consider the role of art in the modern world—not just as aesthetic expression, but as a meaningful and strategic asset. With Monaco’s growing cultural ecosystem, including the Grimaldi Forum, the New National Museum, and respected auction houses, the Principality offers fertile ground for new collectors and investors alike.

Speakers emphasized the importance of developing personal taste and emotional connection to artworks, with renowned collector Simon de Pury offering practical advice: observe art widely, identify what moves you, and then refine your collection accordingly—with both passion and prudence in mind.

This year’s summit placed particular focus on the contribution of private collectors to the preservation and advancement of culture. As Boscagli noted, by encouraging leaders from various sectors to engage with art, Monaco strengthens not only its economy but also its global cultural identity.

The summit sets the stage for the next major art initiative: Monaco Art Week, which returns from 7th to 12th July. As interest in art as investment grows, the Principality is positioning itself as a beacon for collectors worldwide.
