A high-level delegation from the Macao Special Administrative Region of China returned to the Principality on April 28, 2025, following a first official visit in March…
This new trip was timed to coincide with the launch of the Monaco Clean Fusion Forum, held at the Yacht Club de Monaco under the auspices of the Prince Albert II Foundation.
Alongside the Forum, Monaco’s Ambassador to China, Her Excellency Marie-Pascale Boisson, hosted a bilateral meeting between the Macao delegation and a selection of key figures from Monaco’s economic, scientific, and technological sectors. The exchange aimed to deepen mutual understanding and identify opportunities for collaboration.
Discussions centred around innovative solutions and emerging technologies with potential applications in the ecological transition. Topics included sustainable energy production and storage, as well as biomedical research focused on the health-environment nexus—areas in which Monaco has significant expertise.
Among the Monegasque representatives present were Guillaume Rose, Executive General Director of the Monaco Economic Board; Sandrine Sauval, Director of MonacoTech; Delphine Frappier, Secretary General of the Scientific Centre of Monaco; Eric Villalonga, President of the Chamber of Renewable Energies and Ecology; and Mirco Albisetti, President of Aton Green Monaco.
The visiting Macao delegation, led by Secretary for Economy and Finance Tai Kin Ip, included Dr. Che Weng Keon, President of the Science and Technology Development Fund, and Iong Nin Fai, representing Macao’s Economic and Technological Development Bureau. The visit reinforced a shared commitment to international cooperation on innovation and sustainability.
