Monaco is set to become a global hub for fusion innovation on April 28, 2025, as it hosts the Monaco Clean Fusion Forum, convening world-leading fusion experts, investors and policymakers at the Yacht Club de Monaco, its organisers say.
The event is being organised by Alpha Ring, which describes itself as a global leader in micro-fusion technology. It will focus on fusion education and will showcase a groundbreaking tabletop fusion system, Alpha-E, bringing real fusion research out of national labs and into universities worldwide. In addition, the Fusion AI Data Center will be unveiled, which allows researchers to run live fusion experiments remotely —introducing the concept of “Fusion-as-a-Service.”
Peter Liu, CEO of Alpha Ring, said: “If we want to achieve commercial fusion, we need to empower a global community of researchers, thinkers, and doers. Alpha-E and the Fusion AI Data Center transform fusion research from an exclusive domain into a collaborative, international effort, opening new doors for students and educators. The Monaco Clean Fusion Forum will serve as a vital platform for this collaboration, driving progress towards making fusion a reality for the benefit of our planet and future generations.”
Earlier this year Alpha Ring announced that it is partnering with Dr Gianluca Gregori, Professor of Physics at the University of Oxford, to drive innovation in micro-fusion research and education. This partnership has been facilitated through a consultancy agreement with Oxford University Innovation, the technology transfer company owned by the University of Oxford.
