The Prince Pierre Foundation has announced the appointment of Björn Dahlström as Vice-President of its Artistic Council, by Sovereign Ordinance…
Dahlström succeeds Marie-Claude Beaud, whose passion and dedication have left a lasting imprint on the history of the International Contemporary Art Prize. Throughout her tenure, Marie-Claude Beaud played a vital role in promoting contemporary art, raising public awareness, and supporting both established and emerging artists. Her legacy endures through the initiatives she introduced and the inspiration she leaves to the artistic community in Monaco and beyond.
Björn Dahlström joins the Council with the aim of continuing and expanding this cultural mission. An art historian by training, he previously directed the Yves Saint Laurent museums in Marrakech and Paris. Since 2021, he has led the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco (NMNM), where he has overseen several acclaimed exhibitions, including Newton, Riviera and Pasolini en clair-obscur at Villa Sauber, as well as Christian Bérard, Excentrique Bébé and Miquel Barceló, océanographe at Villa Paloma.
The Prince Pierre Foundation warmly welcomes Dahlström’s appointment and expresses confidence in his ability to contribute meaningfully to the growth and influence of the International Contemporary Art Prize. His vision and experience will help guide the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to foster creativity and cultural dialogue, reinforcing Monaco’s commitment to the contemporary arts.
