Monaco’s tourism sector is thriving, with promising figures from 2024 and an ambitious strategy for the year ahead. On Tuesday, March 18, the Monaco Tourism and Convention Authority gathered industry stakeholders at the Méridien Beach Plaza Hotel to present its latest results and future outlook.

The event, attended by Finance and Economy Minister Pierre-André Chiappori and representatives of Monegasque institutions, also served as the perfect stage to celebrate Monaco’s latest accolade—Best European Destination 2025, awarded on February 18. Minister Chiappori accepted the honour on behalf of the Principality, acknowledging the collective efforts of those who contribute to making Monaco a world-class tourism hub.

Tourism in Monaco saw a notable surge in 2024, with hotel occupancy rates rising by three percentage points and average prices increasing by five percent compared to the previous year. Business tourism played a key role in this rebound, demonstrating strong resilience after the pandemic-era downturn.

Looking ahead, Tourism and Conventions Director Guy Antognelli outlined a strategy focused on sustaining growth in high-value long-haul markets like the U.S. and the Middle East while reinforcing European visitor numbers during quieter periods. “Maintaining momentum in profitable markets while expanding our reach in Europe will be crucial in 2025,” he emphasised.

The event also served as the perfect stage to celebrate Monaco’s latest accolade—Best European Destination 2025, awarded on February 18.
