Discussions focused on some of the Mediterranean region’s most pressing challenges, including security, migration, energy, environmental protection and climate change, alongside relations with countries on the Mediterranean’s southern shore.
Addressing a session entitled “Building a partnership for a sustainable and prosperous Mediterranean”, HSH Prince Albert II called for stronger cooperation between Mediterranean countries in confronting the environmental crises affecting the sea.

The Sovereign highlighted three essential pillars for future action; science, collective action and financing, whilst pointing to Monaco’s existing commitment to marine protection through initiatives including the RAMOGE, PELAGOS and ACCOBAMS agreements, as well as the MedFund.
Prince Albert II also took part in a working lunch examining geopolitical and geo-economic developments in the Middle East.
On the sidelines of the summit, the Prince held separate discussions with Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah of Jordan and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, providing further opportunities for bilateral exchanges during the gathering.
